Judith Shulevitz

Judith Shulevitz (born February 28, 1963) is an American journalist, editor and culture critic. She graduated from Yale College in 1986.

From 1991 to 1994, Shulevitz was the co-editor of Lingua Franca with Margaret Talbot.[1] She was the first culture editor of Slate.[2] Shulevitz also worked as deputy editor of New York Magazine,[1] and was a columnist for the New York Times Book Review from 2001 to 2003. Her articles have appeared in The New Yorker, The New Republic, and elsewhere.

Shulevitz is married to Nicholas Lemann, dean of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.[3][4]
